What we had forgotten we missed about Our life overseas...
- * The Yogurt, oh my!
- * Candlelight charades when the power goes out
- * Great local friends who make this feel like home, and put up with all our oddities!
- * Home group on Sunday nights
- * Hot bread baked in a round stone oven
- * Open air shopping
- * The fresh scent of clothes dried on the line
- * The slower pace of life here
- * Our community of friends here from all over the world
- * Walking and Public Transit culture
What we're missing about North America:
- * Family!
- * Worshipping with Valley View
- * Vivid color in the landscape...missing the green!
- * Thursday afternoons when Ben goes on his "date" with grandpa to McDonald's and we sneak out for a date of our own!
- * Michaels, Home Sense, Wal-Mart, Target, Hobby Lobby, etc. etc.!
- * Our (temporary) cats, Oreo and Molly
- * Great friends
- * Parmesan cheese, Feta cheese, Cheddar cheese (do I have a cheese fetish?)
- * Great Friends (worth mentioning twice)

Wow! Thanks for your involvement in getting so many great books to our school here. As school librarian, I'll be busy until at least Christmas inputting and sorting the over 1,000 books we've brought back. - TCK - Third Culture Kid; sometimes also called Global Nomads, "refers to someone who, as a child, has spent a significant period of time in one or more culture(s) other than his or her own, thus integrating elements of those cultures and their own birth culture, into a third culture" (thanks for the def. Wiki)
- CHANNELS - Programmed television; shows that come on a specific channel at a specific time and no DVD or VHS tape is involved.
